Why convert PNG to AVIF?
PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which suits screenshots and graphics but makes photos large. AVIF is the newest web format and is often half the size of a JPG, but support outside web browsers is still patchy.
What happens to quality?
Images are encoded with libavif at quality 75, which keeps photos and graphics sharp and transparent areas intact. Turn on “Lossless” for pixel-perfect output, at a larger size.

Is AVIF good for screenshots and logos?
Often, yes: AVIF keeps flat colours and transparency at a small size. For screenshots full of small text, compare the result with Compress PNG before you switch; Graviton shows the before and after side by side.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Graviton converts and compresses inside your browser, so your images never leave your device. Nothing is sent while you compress. When you download, the browser sends only a one-way fingerprint of the image, so the download can be counted and approved. Graviton stores none of it.
Can I process many images at once?

Is it free?
