Why convert AVIF to JPG?
AVIF is the newest web format and is often half the size of a JPG, but support outside web browsers is still patchy. JPG opens everywhere and suits photos, but it has no transparency.
What happens to quality?
Images are converted at high JPG quality (85). The JPG will be larger than the AVIF, because AVIF compresses far better.

Why can’t I open AVIF files?
AVIF is new. Browsers support it, but many photo viewers, editors and websites do not yet, so JPG is the safe choice for sharing.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Graviton converts and compresses inside your browser, so your images never leave your device. Nothing is sent while you compress. When you download, the browser sends only a one-way fingerprint of the image, so the download can be counted and approved. Graviton stores none of it.
Can I process many images at once?
