How it works
Convert in three steps
- 1
Drop your AVIF images in, or choose them from your device.
- 2
Graviton converts them to WebP right in your browser.
- 3
Download each WebP or a ZIP: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro.
Why convert AVIF to WebP?
AVIF is the newest web format and is often half the size of a JPG, but support outside web browsers is still patchy. WebP is a web format that is usually 25–35% smaller than JPG, but some editors, upload forms and older apps reject it.
What happens to quality?
Images are converted at WebP quality 80. The WebP is usually larger than the AVIF, because AVIF compresses better, but it opens in more places. HDR AVIF photos come out in standard range, as WebP has no HDR.
Frequently asked questions
Why convert AVIF to WebP rather than JPG?
WebP keeps transparency, is usually smaller than a JPG of the same picture, and every current browser shows it. Choose AVIF to JPG when an app or form takes only JPG.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Graviton converts and compresses inside your browser, so your images never leave your device. Nothing is sent while you compress. When you download, the browser sends only a one-way fingerprint of the image, so the download can be counted and approved. Graviton stores none of it.
Can I process many images at once?
Yes. Drop up to 250 images at once and they are compressed together. Download them one by one or as a ZIP that keeps the original file names: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro. On Free, each image counts once a day.
Is it free?
Yes. Compressing and converting are free and unlimited, with no account needed. Downloading needs a free account, which includes 3 downloads a day with every format and setting. Pro removes the daily limit.
