How it works
Convert in three steps
- 1
Drop your WebP images in, or choose them from your device.
- 2
Graviton converts them to AVIF right in your browser.
- 3
Download each AVIF or a ZIP: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro.
Why convert WebP to AVIF?
WebP is a web format that is usually 25–35% smaller than JPG, but some editors, upload forms and older apps reject it. AVIF is the newest web format and is often half the size of a JPG, but support outside web browsers is still patchy.
What happens to quality?
WebP is already compressed, so the AVIF is encoded from its pixels at quality 75: close to the WebP on screen, usually at a smaller size. If an image comes out larger, keep the WebP.
Frequently asked questions
Does it keep animation?
No. An animated WebP keeps only its first frame in any format Graviton saves.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Graviton converts and compresses inside your browser, so your images never leave your device. Nothing is sent while you compress. When you download, the browser sends only a one-way fingerprint of the image, so the download can be counted and approved. Graviton stores none of it.
Can I process many images at once?
Yes. Drop up to 250 images at once and they are compressed together. Download them one by one or as a ZIP that keeps the original file names: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro. On Free, each image counts once a day.
Is it free?
Yes. Compressing and converting are free and unlimited, with no account needed. Downloading needs a free account, which includes 3 downloads a day with every format and setting. Pro removes the daily limit.
