How it works

Convert in three steps

  1. 1

Drop your GIF images in, or choose them from your device.

  2. 2

Graviton converts them to WebP right in your browser.

  3. 3

Download each WebP or a ZIP: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro.

Why convert GIF to WebP?

GIF is a decades-old format limited to 256 colours: fine for simple animations, but photos look banded and files run large. WebP is a web format that is usually 25–35% smaller than JPG, but some editors, upload forms and older apps reject it.

What happens to quality?

The first frame is converted at WebP quality 80, keeping transparent areas. An animated GIF keeps only its first frame: Graviton doesn’t make animated WebP.

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep the animation?

Use Compress GIF instead. It keeps the GIF format and every frame, and makes the file smaller.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Graviton converts and compresses inside your browser, so your images never leave your device. Nothing is sent while you compress. When you download, the browser sends only a one-way fingerprint of the image, so the download can be counted and approved. Graviton stores none of it.

Can I process many images at once?

Yes. Drop up to 250 images at once and they are compressed together. Download them one by one or as a ZIP that keeps the original file names: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro. On Free, each image counts once a day.

Is it free?

Yes. Compressing and converting are free and unlimited, with no account needed. Downloading needs a free account, which includes 3 downloads a day with every format and setting. Pro removes the daily limit.
