How it works
Convert in three steps
- 1
Drop your GIF images in, or choose them from your device.
- 2
Graviton converts them to JPG right in your browser.
- 3
Download each JPG or a ZIP: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro.
Why convert GIF to JPG?
GIF is a decades-old format limited to 256 colours: fine for simple animations, but photos look banded and files run large. JPG opens everywhere and suits photos, but it has no transparency.
What happens to quality?
The GIF’s first frame is converted at high JPG quality (85). An animated GIF keeps only that frame, and transparent areas become white, because JPG has neither animation nor transparency.
Frequently asked questions
Will the JPG look better than the GIF?
It can’t add colours the GIF never had: a GIF holds at most 256, so any banding stays. The JPG simply opens everywhere.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Graviton converts and compresses inside your browser, so your images never leave your device. Nothing is sent while you compress. When you download, the browser sends only a one-way fingerprint of the image, so the download can be counted and approved. Graviton stores none of it.
Can I process many images at once?
Yes. Drop up to 250 images at once and they are compressed together. Download them one by one or as a ZIP that keeps the original file names: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro. On Free, each image counts once a day.
Is it free?
Yes. Compressing and converting are free and unlimited, with no account needed. Downloading needs a free account, which includes 3 downloads a day with every format and setting. Pro removes the daily limit.
