How it works
Compress in three steps
- 1
Pick Photo or Signature, then drop in the image.
- 2
Tap Crop to frame your face, or the signature with a little white around it. Graviton sizes it for 200 DPI and keeps it under the limit.
- 3
Download the JPG and upload it to the PAN form.
The sizes in pixels
At 200 DPI, a 3.5 × 2.5 cm photo is 276 pixels tall and 197 wide, and a 2 × 4.5 cm signature is 157 tall and 354 wide. Graviton makes those sizes and writes 200 DPI into the file, so the form reads the right size in centimetres.
Scan or photograph
Sign in black ink on white paper and photograph it in daylight, or scan it. Crop close to the signature so the detail goes into the ink rather than the paper.
Frequently asked questions
What is DPI and why does it matter here?
DPI says how many pixels make an inch when the image is printed. Forms that give sizes in centimetres use it to check the size, so Graviton writes 200 DPI into the file.
Are these sizes current?
They are the ones Protean lists for PAN applications. Check the instructions on the form you are filling in, and change the size in the settings if it differs.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Graviton converts and compresses inside your browser, so your images never leave your device. Nothing is sent while you compress. When you download, the browser sends only a one-way fingerprint of the image, so the download can be counted and approved. Graviton stores none of it.
Is it free?
Yes. Compressing and converting are free and unlimited, with no account needed. Downloading needs a free account, which includes 3 downloads a day with every format and setting. Pro removes the daily limit.
